Leanne Shapton's new book, Sunday Night Movies, is sooo dreamy and beautiful. The paintings were originally collected on the New York Times Opinion Page, where Leanne did a number of "A month of..." segments. If you haven't already, treat yo-self and view them all here. (And um, can I please somehow transform "A Month Of... Wednesday Patterns" into my every-single-day wardrobe?) The softness of Leanne's paintings gives a remembered quality to the classics depicted in Sunday Night Movies, and she's done so many of my favourite films and your favourite films (I know you have great taste, readers!) that the collection just has a perfect nostalgia to it. It'll be in stores early September!
