Iron Man 3 Review.

Here is my full Iron Man 3 review. Originally it was posted in two parts, but here is the full review for new readers or those who have not read my review yet. This review is part of Hayden's hero week on her blog Story Girl. Also please check out my other post today, Man of Steel Sequel Villains: Part 1.

Thoughts: Iron Man 3, the long awaited follow-up to The Avengers, does it live up to the hype? Iron Man 3 has caused a divided on the opinion of the film: Half completely love it, and the other half just like it. This review is free of any spoilers. Unlike the previous Iron Man films, Shane Black has taken the helm as director of the film opposed to Jon Favreau and Shane Black does an excellent job with the film. He is credited for writing Lethal Weapon, which is one of my favorite action films, and his great sense of humor and witty dialogue is clearly present, except even better. Iron Man 3 throws Tony back in the metaphorical "cave" and he has to use his intelligence to get out of a jam. Iron Man 3 is completely unique compared to previous comic book films, it takes the genre is a new exciting direction, which works very well. What surprised me is how much of a detective/spy movie it turned out to be in a few parts. The action is a blend of Iron Man suit battles and classic action movie type action scenes, all of which was directed well (more on the action later in the review). As with most Marvel films, the true core are the heroes and how human and real the characters are portrayed, and Iron Man 3 is no exception. Robert Downey Jr. is better than ever as the always likeable Tony Stark. Sure, he may be a narcissistic jerk, but that is why he is such a deep and entertaining character. He laughs in the face of danger, Tony Stark is the opposite of every other comic book hero and that is what makes him and his films so unique. However what happened in The Avengers is catching up with him and he has to deal with it.
There is one kid in the movie named Harley and just about every time there is a kid in a film, said kid often times ruins the film or at least detracts from it, however that is not the case in Iron Man 3. Harley was great and his dialogue with Tony is hilarious. Tony talks all kinds of crap to the kid; he says things that you would never expect someone to say to a kid because Tony really does not care.
Now the part that will have audience members divided: the twist. While I will not spoil it, I actually liked the twist; it was clever and really smart when you think about it. Never before has something like it has been done with this type of film. I applaud Shane Black and company for taking such a gutsy move. Also there was only one minor scene that disappointed me in the slightest, although it was not a big problem by any means.
What surprised me the most about some critics’ reaction was that some thought it was a tad slow. To me at least, it was never slow or boring. When there was not action, there were either important plot progressions, or witty humor, not even for a second was I bored. Every scene felt necessary and had a purpose. Also the film did a good job of adaption various comic book stories, particularly Extremis, even with the liberties taken with the story.
Iron Man 3 is loaded with famous aspects of various comic book stories, most of which I am very familiar with and they were handled very well.
It is no secret that The Avengers and other films leading up to it are some of my favorite movies ever made, but how does Iron Man 3 stack up against them? Obviously, The Avengers is the best, it had everything action, drama, heart, and loveable characters, after that, my favorite is basically a tie between Iron Man, Captain America and Thor, with the first Iron Man being maybe being slightly ahead of the other two. Although it is early to say for Iron Man 3 and it will require multiple viewings, it is at least on par with the others films, if not better.
Disney is clearly not trying to screw with Marvel's films whatsoever in terms of content of the films. While there was nothing overtly inappropriate about the film, which is good, it definitely was not trying to be "kid friendly" and kept in line with the first two Iron Man movies; it barely even resembled a Disney movie, which was great.

Directed by: Shane Black
Genre: Comic Book, Action, Sci-Fi, Action Thriller,
Release Date: May 3, 2013 (US)
Running Time: 130 minutes
MMPA rating: PG-13

The Good: Robert Downey Jr.'s performance is amazing as always, Epic final battle, Good adaptation of comic book, Great supporting cast, Jaw dropping plot twist, Perfect mix of comedy, plot and action,  Humanizes Tony, Suspenseful, Hilarious at times, Witty dialogue, Awesome action, Excellent performances, Perfect after credits scene, Stunning visual effects, Top notch soundtrack, Darker tone, Great character development, Solid pacing, Excellent direction, Good use of Avengers references, Exciting cameos, Unique tone, Challenges Tony like never before, Satisfying ending,

The Bad:

Plot: 9.9/10- Iron Man 3 did just about everything right. The dialogue was better than ever, which is a tough feat, considering how great the dialogue was in the previous Iron Man films. The supporting characters were given a better role, particularly Don Cheadle as "Rhodey". Similar to Lethal Weapon, Tony and Rhodey had a great buddy-cop vibe together in the film and their dialogue was excellent. At the plot twist my mouth was literally hanging open in amazement! Shane Black had some serious guts to do it and I respect him for that. Never have I been that shocked during a film ever maybe, which is something that rarely happens today. Being knowledgeable of the comics, a few of the minor twists were expected but like any great book adaption, I loved it all the same. Another thing that makes Iron Man 3 great is that he is suit working out some kinks with the new suit just like the first Iron Man film, which is one of the many reasons it was so great. The film had the perfect balance of epic finality and personal struggle. Also Iron Man 3 had a much more comic book feel, which makes sense considering what happened in The Avengers. There are references that are not in-your-face but more subtle, which worked well in the context of the film. My only slight disappoint in the plot was how the ending wrapped things up a little too quickly, other than that, everything was fantastic.

Some may try to compare it to The Dark Knight Rises because it is the third chapter of an epic comic book hero trilogy, but there are not that many similarities, except for a slightly darker tone. There is another comparison to a film that I will talk more about in the spoilers post.

While the film does have some callbacks to The Avengers, which were handled well, however Iron Man 3 is its own film and basically the sequel to both the Avengers and Iron Man 2. When watching it with a friend who had not seen The Avengers and only Iron Man 2, he enjoyed it with only knowing a few minor plot details of The Avengers. However, if you have not seen The Avengers, I take pity on your poor soul, after reading this review, stop what you are doing and go buy the Avengers and watch it! Right now!

Action: 9.9/10- Although there was not a lot of action in the beginning, Iron Man 3 has some of the best action scenes since The Avengers! Surprising there were not as many pure Iron Man in the suit type battles, it was more gunfights or a combination of both. There was one scene in particular that reminded me of an espionage film more than anything and I loved it! It was so cool and fun to watch. The final battle was pure awesomeness! It everything that I wanted the final fight to be, couldn't have been better. Black's fight choreography and camera work was spot on; there was never a scene that was too dark or any use of shaky-cam.

Acting: 10/10- I know will never happen for this role, but Robert Downey Jr. should a freaking Oscar! He was beyond fantastic as Tony Stark. Downey mixes the witty/sarcastic humor with deeper character problems perfectly. His PTSD is clearly validated from his experiences in The Avengers. Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts was perfect as always and her banter with Downey was often humorous and had a sense of realism. She could have been in the film a little more, however absent was given due reason. Don Cheadle as Rhodey/War Machine was the surprise of the film to me. His role was expanded and there was a buddy cop type relationship between him and Tony, similar to Lethal Weapon.

Ben Kingsley killed it as the dastardly Mandarin, proving yet again why he is one of the best actors in the business. Guy Pearce was great overall, there was one scene where may have been a little over-the-top, however his character was given enough depth. Rebecca Hall’s role was very minor and was not intended to be more than a plot device, yet she was still solid in her role. Former director Jon Favreau was given more character depth and more to do than just be a stupid comic relief, although he was often hilarious. The villain’s henchmen played by James Badge Dale and Stephanie Szostak played their role well considering their minor part in the film. Ty Simpkins as Harley was surprising great for a child actor. He was never annoying in the slightest and only added to the film.

Special effects: 9.9/10- How does Marvel do it? The Avengers’ special effects looked so ridiculously realistic that you almost forgot that there were any effects used and Iron Man 3 does the same. Many of the effects were probably practical effects and some of the others had to have been digital, all of which looked amazing. Since the first Iron Man, everything has been so convincing in his movies it is difficult to tell when CGI is actually used anymore, it is that good.

Soundtrack: 9.9/10- Brian Tyler’s score is incredible! The soundtrack perfectly fits the tone of the film, particularly the main theme, which is used throughout the film in multiple variations. Also the track played during the credits is one of my favorite film tracks since The Avengers.

Comedy: 9.7/10- While definitely not a comedy, Shane Black’s witty script and cast’s adlib dialogue is often hilarious. Robert Downey Jr. is funnier than ever, and his banter with Cheadle created some great humor. I only wish Tony and Pepper could have had more humorous dialogue together like the first Iron Man film.

Would I Watch This Again: When will the Blu-Ray be available to pre-order? I am buying as soon as it is released or when an Iron Man trilogy box set is released, because I cannot wait to see it again!

Overall: 9.9/10- Iron Man 3 takes big risks that you will either love or hate, but to me Iron Man 3 is everything I wanted and then some. Basically, do yourself a favor and watch Iron Man 3, even if you do not love it; it is a blast to watch.

Closing comments: Obvious Iron Man 3 is no Avengers; however it is the perfect conclusion to one of the best film trilogies ever made.

Recommended for: Everyone, Comic Book fans, Action fans, Robert Downey Jr. fans, Action Adventure fans, Sci-Fi fans, Anyone how watched The Avengers,

I encourage spoilers in the comments, so beware if you have not seen the film.

Note: For this review I have elected to remove my usual plot summery as to not spoil the plot and because the trailer gives away enough already.

Iron Man 3 Review: Part 2.

Here is the second and final part of my Iron Man 3 review. Just as before, it is free of any spoilers.

Iron Man 3 Review: Part 1.

Iron Man 3: Review Round-Up.

Iron Man 3, the biggest film of the summer and the first Marvel film to follow The Avengers. While most viewers like it however, there is a twist that is splitting audiences, which I do not know what it is. From the reviews there are two main opinions: 1: It is amazing, humorous, and almost equal to The Avengers. 2: It is good fun but the twist kept it from perfection. Basically, go see the film in theaters, it is a must see.

IGN: 9/10- IGN loved it, here is what they said:
"A comic-book movie that expertly melds action, comedy and drama to become the finest Iron Man movie yet."

Rotten Tomatoes: 80%: At first the Tomato meter was around 90%, now it has dropped to 80% surprisingly. Here is what they said, which is oddly different than what was there previously:
"With the help of its charismatic lead, some impressive action sequences, and even a few surprises, Iron Man 3 is a witty, entertaining adventure and a strong addition to the Marvel canon."

Ian Drury at Banon's Roar!: 3.5/4- "In the end, Iron Man 3 is a fantastic and fun action adventure, topping its predecessor and reaching for the heights set by The Avengers." Click here to read his review.

Iron Man: Extremis Reivew

In preparation of Iron Man 3, here is my review for the comic book story Extremis.

Thoughts: Extremis is an Iron Man comic book story arc, which the upcoming Iron Man 3 is loosely based on, and it is often credited for reinventing Iron Man for the modern era. Because Iron Man 3 is based on this comic book, the plot details will be kept to a minim as to not spoil plot points for the film.
Extremis' influence can be clearly seen in first Iron Man film in various aspects of the film. For example, Afghan terrorists take Tony hostage just like the film, however there are many other differences. Warren Ellis wrote a fresh new take on Iron Man's character, redefining the status quo and telling a more modern origin, through a series of flashbacks, as well as giving him the new Extremis armor. This review is for the Extremis motion comic, not the actual comic book, because that is the version I found easiest, although they are basically the same in terms of content. The main villain, Mallen, does have a solid character arc, but is there to pose a significant threat to Tony than anything else. *Possible Iron Man 3 Spoiler* In Iron Man 3 the villain is an amalgam of the characters Dr. Aldrich Killian and Mallen. *End Spoilers* The story is darker and more realistic tech-thriller than the most Iron Man stories, yet does not seem too far outside the previously established universe.

For first time readers of the comics, Tony Stark's character is slightly different than that of Robert Downey Jr.'s in that he is more serious and Pepper Potts actually married "Happy" Hogan (Stark's security guy) in the comics, not Tony.

Plot: 9.2/10- As stated above, Ellis revitalized Iron Man for modern era and told a unique story.

Art: 8.5/10- Adi Granov's art style is unique and almost odd at first, however the combination of realistic and cell shaded art worked well as a whole.

Voice Acting: 7.9/10- Jason Griffith as Tony Stark is decent, not as good as some of the voice actors for animated series, but still solid. The rest of cast is solid for the most part, but not up to the quality of an animated feature.

Motion Comic: 8./10- There are different views on motion comics, I view them as the audio-book equivalent of comic books, where some look down upon them as a lesser form of the medium, I view them as an expansion of said medium. As for the motion comic itself, Extemis is one of better I have seen. Granov's art lends itself well to motion unlike most other motion comics, easily the best I have thus far in terms of quality.

Overall: 8.5/10- Overall Extremis' is an excellent comic book story, even though it does not work as an animated film by any means, it is a well told Iron Man story that fans of the character should definitely check out.

Closing Comments: Although I do recommend watching the motion comic for Iron Man fans, it would probably be best to watch it after watching Iron Man 3 as to not spoil any plot points.

Warning: The motion comic contains one instance of strong swearing and graphic animated violence and it requires a Hulu account to view it, however I am not 100% certain it is free because I watched on YouTube when they had it uploaded.

Iron Man 3 Early Reviews!

Iron Man 3 will be released in one week from today, unless you live in Europe or Australia, then you might have already seen Iron Man 3. From the early reviews the film does not disappoint in the slightest! Although most film critics have yet to review the film, The Dark Knight worshiping fanboys at IGN.com gave it an outstanding 9.0/10, which is the same score The Dark Knight Rises received. Normally their reviews are not particularly great due to their bias towards anything Christopher Nolan makes, The Dark Knight especially. However considering that Iron Man 3 received a 9/10 and was said to be quote: "A comic-book movie that expertly melds action, comedy and drama to become the finest Iron Man movie yet.", I am certain that it will not disappoint. In preparation of the film I will be re-watching first two Iron Man films again and avoiding all trailer, clips and possible spoilers. I may re-review the first because my previous review is subpar compared what I writing currently, although I have yet to make a decision on that. Also expect a review for the Iron Man comic book Extremis, which Iron Man 3 is partially based on. Anyone else excited for Iron Man 3 as I am? Please comment below.

New Iron Man 3 Trailer.

Here is the new trailer for Iron Man 3! And I have to say that it looks incredible! It makes me beyond excited to see the film. While I was originally skeptical of adapting the Extremis story from the comics, it appears that they figured out how to make it work. There are many awesome references to the comics, including the famous Hulkbuster Armor and the Iron Army! Although there have been some spoilers leaked, I have avoided most of them, thus I will not say anything about in these posts. Consider how epic, awesome and every other positive word in the dictionary The Avengers was, Iron Man 3 is not going to let that prevent it from being an amazing film. From this and the previous trailers, it appears that Iron Man 3 will have a darker tone than the previous entries. Despite, the footage screened at Comic Con was said to be not as dark and more fun like the other films, hopefully will have a good balance of the two elements. However, people seem to forget that the first Iron Man was darker and more realistic, but still had a great sense of humor in line with the character.
My only worry, is that it might be overstuffed with different combining both the Extremis and Mandarin stories and end up not being focused enough. Other than that, Iron Man 3 is making me more excited than The Hobbit: Desolation Smaug.

For those not familiar with the comics, this is the Hulkbuster Armor that Tony used to battle in various comic books. Even though, it might not be called the "Hulkbuster" armor in the film, it is obviously inspired from the comics and supports the rumor that Hulk will battle The Avengers in one of the up-coming films. Consider who well the team worked together in The Avengers, I hope this is not the case, even if it was from the comics. But I will go into more detail about Marvel's up-coming films in a later post.

Here is a screen cap of the Iron Army. I cannot wait to see where the film is taking the franchise.

Note: While I was originally going to post the Lord of the Rings Book Vs. Film comparison. Due to this new trailer, it has been delay until tomorrow.

Top 25 Fictional Couples: Part 2.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Here is part 2 to the Top 25 Fictional couples list that the readers requested. Also thanks everyone for the overwhelmingly amount of positive comments on yesterday's part 1 of the this Top 25 Couples List.  Hope you enjoy.

At Number 12: The Doctor and Rose Tyler or River Song
Since he has had a relationship with Rosa early on in the series and later *Doctor Who Spoilers* married River Song recently in the series. *End of Spoilers* David Tennant's Doctor probably had the best chemistry with Rose than any other companion and she was his first romantic relationship with The Doctor.

At Number 11: Scott (Cyclops) and Jean Grey
While the movie version of Scott Summers (aka Cyclops) and Jean Grey were given the shaft in the movies, they are a core part of the X-Men in the comics. Their relationship is a driving force in many classic X-Men comic runs like the Phoenix Sage that they deserve a spot on this list.

At Number 10: Joker and Harley
Not exactly a nice relationship, consider that they are both deranged psychopaths. Harley is one of my favorite characters in the Batman universe and I wish Nolan had given us an adaptation of the character in his trilogy. Watch the episode "Mad Love" of Batman: The Animated Series to see more of this crazy couple.

At Number 9: Master Chief and Cortana
OK, this is far from the traditional "romance" because Cortana is a sentient artificial intelligence and Master Chief is basically the future version of Captain America. If you have played the Halo series, particularly Halo 4, it should be obvious as to why they are on the list.

At Number 8: Luke and Mara
Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade had instant chemistry on the pages of Timothy Zahn's Thrawn book trilogy. Although non-Star Wars will have never heard of the couple since Mara has yet to make an appearance in any form of media except for a few video games, there are many fans of Luke and Mara. If she is completely disregarded in the up-coming Star Wars trilogy I will be very disappointed.

At Number 7: Indiana and Marion
While it's the first appearance of Harrison Ford on this list, it certainly will not be the last. During their first scene together, the audience instantly see what their relationship and the history behind it. On screen they are so much fun to watch, but let us forgot about the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull because that never happened.

At Number 6: Shepard and Tali
This choice from the Mass Effect series needs some explaining for those who have not played the video game. In Mass Effect the player creates a character named Shepard and goes through the story making dialogue choices that affect the outcome of the game. If the play so chooses, he can exchange dialogue with the certain members of the squad and build a romantic relationship. For me, Tali was the most fascinating character and had a better back-story compared to Miranda or Kelly Chambers. She can not even remove her enviro-suit without risk of contracting a deadly disease, and she is so funny and awkward that is one of the many reasons why Tali is such a compelling character. Below is a sample of the dialogue from the game.

At Number 5: Steve and Peggy
They are one of the most believable couple I have seen in a movie. The ending scene of Captain America: The First Avenger was both sad and satisfying at the same time.

At Number 4: Revan and Bastlia
Another couple from the Star Wars universe, Revan and Bastlia first appeared in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game. Unfortunately, I cannot say more without spoiling the plot for the game.

At Number 3: Peter and Gwen or Mary Jane
Since both film versions of Spider-Man had fantastic couples with Toby McGuire and Kirsten Dunst and Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, they are both included on this list. If I had to choose, I would pick Garfield and Emma Stone because they had such great chemistry together on screen.

At Number 2: Tony and Pepper
Two of the best cast couples of all-time, Robert Downy Jr. as Tony Stark and Gwenethen Pawthorl as Pepper Potts. Believe it or not, in the comics Pepper was not Tony's romantic interest, she ended up marring Iron Man's head of security "Happy" Hogan. Despite this, this is possibly the best change ever made from comic to film because it works so well. They play off each other as if they have known each other for years and their on screen chemistry is virtually unmatched. Not only one of the best fictional couples, they are one of the funniest as well.

At Number 1: Han and Leia
How could I choose anyone else but Han and Leia for the top spot? My favorite hero and heroine from all of fiction together, could it get any better? Their banter is hilarious as demonstrated by the Gifs below and their chemistry is fantastic. Although the nearly 15 year age difference between the characters, Carrie Fisher has such a presence that the difference is not even noticable. They even had the best exchange of romantic dialogue in cinema history with.
Leia: "I love you."
Han: "I know."
Ford even came up with that line on the spot. Also do not forget about the "Scruffy looking nurf herder." scene, both clever and hilarious.

The pictures above are from Star Wars Here & There by Helen.

I know there were a few that could have made the list but just fell short like Robin Hood and Maid Marion or any couple from Alfred Hitchcock's films. Who are your favorite Fictional Couples? Please comment below.

Iron Man 3 Trailer! And Posting Schedule.

The Iron Man 3 trailer is finally here and it looks awesome so far. Before I was not a fan of the new color for the Armor but so far I actually like it. From the reports, the movie will be based on the Extremis comic book run and this trailer does show it. Extremis is a virus that gives Tony the ability to control his armor directly with his mind as well as other forms of the electronics. The trailer appears to be darker, which should be great and Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin looks great also. Hopefully this will have  the right amount of inward struggle and large scale action to be truly great and top the original Iron Man. What do you think about this trailer? Please comment below. Also below are some pictures and my posting schedule for this week. The Two Towers: Book Vs. Movie should finally be finished for next week.

Downey's Injury Delays Iron Man 3 Production.

This just in from IGN.com. Robert Downey Jr. injures ankle while  filming Iron Man 3, which will delay production of the film. Hopefully this will not rush the movie too much or delay its release date. Below is copied from IGN.com.

"Star Robert Downey Jr. was injured today on the set of Iron Man 3, which has caused the film to temporarily halt production.
"Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates," said Marvel Studios in a statement."

Avengers Character Analysis Part 1.

As stated in my previous Avengers review. I will be analysing each character and what they contributed to the overall movie and my favorite parts of the movie they were in.
Warning Complete Spoilers for The Avengers movie, if you have not seen The Avengers Click Here to read my spoiler free review and then go to the theater and watch The Avengers. Then come back and read this post.

Captain America

Captain America has always been my favorite Avenger. He was introduced with "Punching bag" scene, which we saw a glimpse of during the end of Captain America: The First Avenger. Cap was portrayed very well and I like that he did give orders and was the leader of the team during the epic battle at the end. Chris Evan's performance was even better than his performance in Captain America: The First Avenger. He had a very commanding presence and still had that old fashioned soldier mentality but he is still adjusting to the modern world. When he was ordering the team and he came around to Hulk and said "Hulk..........Smash!", that was hilarious and worked great. I also really liked his line when Thor dropped in and grabbed Loki. Then Black Widow said "But their basically gods!", Cap replies "Ma'am, there's only One God, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that." Not only does Captain America have a great moral code he is most likely Christian from that quote. The costume looked a lot better in the movie than in the trailer and screen stills. It actually good but it still looked better when he did not wear the helmet.

Quotes:
"All right, listen up! Until we can close that portal up there, what we need is containment. Barton: I want you on that roof, eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark: you've got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or you turn it to ash. Thor: you've gotta try and bottleneck that portal, slow them down. You've got the lightning - light the b*stards up" *Turns to Black Widow: "You and me: we stay here on the ground, keep the fighting here. And Hulk: smash!

"Ma'am, there's only one God, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that."
"Big man in a suit of armour. Take that off, what are you? "
"You came here with a mission, sir, trying to get me back to the world?"
"I've been asleep for 70 years. I think I've had enough rest."

 Iron Man

Iron Man is easily the most popular of The Avengers and did have slightly more dialogue than the other members of the team but the amount of actual screen time is about the same. Robert Downy Jr. was, as always, excellent as Tony Stark. He really owns the role. Although he was still kind of a jerk, Tony was much less of one in The Avengers compared to Iron Man 2. For those who do not think of Tony as a hero, although I always have, he proved it in The Avengers almost giving his life for the city of New York. The scene did lose a little tension since there is going to be an Iron Man 3 movie but I thought it could have left his fate unknown until Iron Man 3.

Quotes:
"[to Bruce Banner] You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? Huge bag of weed?"
"We have a Hulk."
"You have reached the life model decoy of Tony Stark, please leave a message."
"You're missing the point! There's no throne, there is no version of this where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes and maybe it's too much for us but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be d*mned well sure we'll avenge it!"
"[to Captain America] You might have missed a couple things, y'know, doing time as a Capsicle."
"[to Bruce Banner] You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? Huge bag of weed?"
"Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist."
"[Discussing S.H.I.E.L.D] An intelligence agency that *fears* intelligence? Historically, not awesome."
"Better clench up, Legolas."
"Shakespeare in the park?"
"Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?"

Thor

Chris Hemsworth was great as Thor again. He had great moments with Loki, trying to convince to come back with him. His fight with Hulk was amazing, Thor's fighting style was more agile and the way he used Mjolnir was perfect. Before the movie I was really wondering how Thor was going to join since he was in Asgard but it was done very well. Some are complaining that it was not explain enough how Thor is sent back to Earth but what Loki said, which I cannot remember exactly was he said, was enough explanation.

Quote:
"You people are so petty... and tiny."
Thor: He has an army, called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard or any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the Earth. In return, I suspect, for the Tesseract.
Steve Rogers: An army. From outer space.
Bruce Banner: So he's building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for.
Thor: Selvig?
Bruce Banner: He's an astrophysicist.
Thor: He's a friend.
Natasha Romanoff: Loki has them under some kind of spell. Along with one of ours.
Steve Rogers: I wanna know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here.
Bruce Banner: I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell crazy on him.
Thor: Have a care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard. And he is my brother.
Natasha Romanoff: He killed eighty people in two days.
Thor: He's adopted.
"I have unfinished business with Loki."

Hulk/Bruce Banner
Everyone thought that re-casting Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and not have Edward Norton reprise his role was  a bad idea but Ruffalo delivered. He was perfect as Banne, it would be hard to imagine Norton delivering his lines as good as Ruffalo. No disrespect to Norton, who was a good Bruce Banner, Ruffalo nailed it perfectly. He was humorous when he needed to be and played off Robert Downy Jr. really well. The CGI Hulk was "Incredible!" He has to be the most realistic CGI character ever in a film. The Hulk actually looked like Mark Ruffalo and looked like the Comic Book version. He was bigger and bulkier like he should be. The way he interacted with other characters looked very real. Some say that "Hulk stole the show", while I would say that he was awesome smashing things, but the characters all had about the same amount of screen time. Many of the funniest scenes in the movie was when confronted Loki and grabs him and "SMASHED!" That was hilarious! Also when Hulk got revenge on Thor by punching him during the battle, was classic.

Quotes: "That's my secret, Cap, I'm always angry."
"Puny god."
"Hulk Smash!"
"I got low. I didn't see an end so I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out."
"That's my secret Cap, I'm always angry."
"[upon Natasha drawing her gun at his outburst] I'm sorry, that was mean. I just wanted to see what you'd do. How about we find another way in which you don't use that and the other guy doesn't make a mess?"
