JT Valun's Top 25 Lord of the Rings Characters. ~ drawn quarterly

The following ranking was determined, in addition to personal preference, by the vividness of the character's existence within the text of The Lord of the Rings. The way that character was portrayed on the screen had little to no effect on their final rank. The questions I used to determine the positions were "Can I 'see' this character clearly in my own mind?" and "Do I like the character" Peter Jackson made several characters (i.e. Arwen and Sauron) more visible than they are in the original text.

At Number 25: Saruman

Saruman is a good character, but I have never been able to independently visualize him when reading, and I simply could not decide who belonged lower than him. So here he is on the bottom.

At Number 24: Arwen
