Congratulations, Seth!

Congratulations to Seth on winning the Harbourfront Festival Prize which is based on the merit of the author's body of work and contribution to the medium and industry. The jury consisted of John van Driel (VP Programming & Operations, Classical 96.3 FM), Denise Donlon (Television Host and Producer) and Geoffrey E. Taylor (Director, IFOA) and noted the diversity and range of Seth's illustrations and designs in addition to his body of work. And the prize is $10,000 and will be presented to Seth on the closing night of the IFOA (Oct. 29) at 8pm in the Fleck Dance Theatre.


Seth, your absolute love of comics, kindness to your colleagues, passion for your cartooning peers and forebearers, and the beauty and intelligence of your work makes this prize very well deserved. It goes without saying, but we should be saying it everyday, that D+Q wouldn't be D+Q without Seth, and we're proud to be working with you!



I know it's not fair of me to say this, as I have read the upcoming GREAT NORTHERN BROTHERHOOD OF CANADIAN CARTOONISTS, but the above sneak peek should explain why the timing of this award is even more appropriate for Seth!
