"Guy Delisle has entered the comics scene like a breath of fresh air, and may all young autobiographically-minded cartoonists fill their lungs with his example."
Joe Sacco's thorough review of Guy Delisle's Burma Chronicles in The National is one of the most insightful reviews I have seen in recent memory. Discussed is the role of Delisle's use of public/private imagery and anecdotes in addressing one of the most oppressive regimes in the world, as well as Delisle often concise telling of the political/cultural history of the country.
