This week! The 40th Anniversary of San Diego Comic-con!

Yes, this is it, folks, the busiest, most hectic week of the year, when half of the office goes to San Diego to answer questions of where is the next Walt & Skeezix, the new Peepshow, why doesn't Julie do comics anymore, why do we flip our manga, and why aren't we speaking to you in french. Ask away! The Chief will even be there! We will be in our usual booth, number 1529, around all of our peers and friends, Fantagraphics, Top Shelf, Giant Robot, and more so please stop by to say hi, get a book signed by Seth, R. Sikoyrak and Jason Lutes.

"What?" you say.."a book by R Sikoryak?!?" Yes, ten years in the making, we present to you this week in its full color glory, the debut of Masterpiece Comics, which gets a lovely starred review in this week's Publishers Weekly and last week, Bob was interviewed by the Crosshatch. We will also have plenty of super-duper double-sided Masterpiece Comics poster to give away with each purchase of the book.

As well, stop by to congratulate Jason Lutes on his TWO Eisners nominations for Berlin and be sure to see Seth's solo slide show which will be the last time he is doing the show in the US for some time. People! This show is not to be missed. And it's not every year, that we have Seth, Jason and Bob grace our booth with their presence. Rejoice!

In addition, we will have limited copies of R.O. Blechman's Talking Lines and Anders Nilsen's new issue of Big Questions. We also brought 500 of our Drawn & Quarterly shopping bags, which are free with the purchase of two books, or $5 a piece.

Still not satisfied? Need something absolutely free? Well, any kids under the age of 14 are more than welcome to ask and receive an issue of our 2009 Free Comic Book Day featuring John Stanley's Melvin Monster and Nancy. Otherwise, for adults, free with purchase. It's a hard bargain we Canadians drive.
