Cartoon Prayers

What can be better (and funnier) than a book collecting and illustrating "found" prayers? Real prayers - none of this is made up, according to the aptly-named artist Christian Northeast.



When contacted last year by D&Q about doing a book, this prolific and talented illustrator from Ontario came back a few months later with the proposal for Prayer Requested.



If his artwork looks familiar, it's likely because you've seen it before in publications like McSweeney's, Time, and The New Yorker.



Prayer Requested is his first book and we'll have advance copies for sale this weekend in New York and Chicago. The rest of it will be out in stores later this month. Pretty hilarious stuff.
