Christmas Gift Mailing Cut-Off Dates

It's starting to look a little wintry up here, what with all the naked trees, early sunsets, and dachshund-less sidewalks. That means CHRISTMAS is coming!

If, like me, you are burdened with a ridiculous family that insists on staying in contact with all their ex-wives, ex-husbands, and ex-friends (all right, it's very sweet), perhaps you have a crazy long list of people for whom it is necessary to purchase Christmas gifts. Perhaps they are scattered all over North America, or, more challenging still, all over the world.

With that in mind, below you'll find the chronological list of cut-off dates for different mail services. Get your orders in early to make sure the copy of Paying for It for your 92 yr old grandpa arrives punctually. After all, what's worse than a tardy book?

USPS International - Friday December 2nd
USPS Media Mail - Thursday December 8th
FedEx Ground - Tuesday December 13th
FedEx International Economy - Tuesday December 13th
FedEx 2 Day - Monday December 19th
FedEx Next Day Air - Tuesday December 20th

And for all my fellow Canadians (this is just shipping within Canada, y'all):

Canada Post Regular Parcel - Thursday December 10th

But we all know that Canada Post sucks (one time they delivered me HALF of a postcard, covered in SOOT), so be careful, or maybe order through Amazon if you want to make sure it arrives. They have a complicated chart that explains in detail. Order by Sunday December 11th if you're using standard shipping within Canada.
