The Making of Tatsumi

Lo and behold, looked what turned up in my google alerts today, a very thinly veiled advertisement for HP that is ALSO a 5 minute feature on the animation of A DRIFTING LIFE! Yes! News is that it will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. This video made me so happy for Tatsumi.

Here's an interview with the director Eric Khoo in Time Out Singapore, about how he got Tatsumi to give him the rights to do the film. His story is very similar about how Adrian went to Japan to ask Tatsumi for D+Q to reprint his comics, and Tatsumi having read PressPop's Sleepwalk, instantly felt a connection with Adrian and said yes. It seems like Khoo is trying very hard to keep the film authentic, right down to Tatsumi's okanese accent.

Now I just have to figure out to convince the Chief to send me and Adrian to Cannes for the premiere.
